12/24 S & M Series Solar Power Systems Exd - Class 1 Div. 2
The TIC-EDGE Solar Power Systems Exd for Class 1 Div. 2 applications in hazardous locations Group C & D are engineered solutions providing an environmentally friendly solution for industrial, marine, or offshore applications where 12 Vdc or 24 Vdc are needed and power from the grid or other power sources is not suitable or available.
In Class 1 Div. 2 applications the solar power system in installed in the hazardous area.
The system can be delivered for any oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, marine, or off-shore application and can be designed to power from a single device up to hundreds of devices. Single panel systems S Series are for stationary applications up to 150 W for 12 Vdc systems and 200 W for 24 Vdc systems, while multi panel systems M series are for larger stationary applications. Non-stationary applications require different design criteria and will be addressed on case-by-case basis.
All systems are designed for 24/7 operation. The backup time from the battery bank varies depending on the requirements of the application, but is normally designed to last between 9 and 12 days. All our systems include maintenance free, non-spill and sealed GEL batteries.
Different mounts for the solar panel like side of pole-mount, top of pole-mount and pad-mount are available depending on the application. The most frequently used enclosure is NEMA 3R in powder coated aluminum.
Side of pole mounting structure can be upgraded for high-wind applications up to 170 MPH.
The TIC-EDGE Solar Power System Exd can be used in a wide range of applications. The system provides 12 Vdc or 24 Vdc to hard-wired or wireless field instruments to measure level, pressure, flow, and temperature, fire & gas detectors, cathodic protection, wireless VSAT communication, SCADA RTU, tank farm monitoring, oil or gas wellhead applications, CCTV, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, emergency power and more.
The main components in a complete system are Class 1 Div. 2 solar panel(s), solar panel mounting structure, NEMA 3R system enclosure, Class 1 Div. 2 charge controller, US DOT/ICAO/IATA/UL recognized battery bank, overload protection, installation/operation manual and electrical schematics.
The systems conform to ISA STD 12.12.01 & UL STD 508A.
The systems are certified to CSA STD C22.2 Nos. 213 & 14 Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous Locations.
